由于贡品被抢，黄公公立意追查到底，选妃之事暂且搁下。各家又开始?解除假婚姻赶走新郎而忙碌，汉钟离、铁拐李当然被赶，而掌柜亦将吕洞宾轰出药铺。华仔得了怪病，吕洞宾化身江湖郎中到华仔家替他治病。吕洞宾指出华仔那种病是一种瘟神，需要子时到镇外荔枝林中，取阳面最高荔枝一颗下药，因为其它荔枝变苦了。于是吉妈妈与素女依吕洞宾指示去去采摘，最终素女凭着手上花蓝摘下最高的一颗荔枝，而华仔果真药到病除。吉妈妈与素女感激吕洞宾。黄公公本想以荔枝讨好圣上，但他发现荔枝是苦的，惊恐万状。于是黄公公大闹县衙，向刘县令大兴问罪之师。刘县令一边派快马连夜追赶荔枝车阻止其上京，一方面下令组织专门调查组追查荔枝变苦之事。小秤杆来到县衙，告知荔枝变苦那天，素女和吉妈妈去过荔枝林，刘县令听到大喜忙令衙役去捉他们。另外，素女在树林救了一头牛及一只龟，她又会否好心有好报？
