第7集:心芳难产去世

苗师傅将一封信交给心生，是阿大的生产队送来了，上面写着毛阿大因公殉职。这对于新生来说无疑是晴天霹雳。他将这个消息告诉了母亲，同时间得到消息的还有老虎灶爷爷(张学景 饰)。为了让心芳安心生产，大家约定一定不能告诉邻居还有少不更事的心美和心根，要暂时隐瞒这个消息。

离阿大答应回上海的日子只剩一天时间了，心生和俞佩佩在一起，模仿阿大手迹给心芳写信，想找个理由先蒙混过去。俞佩佩觉得心芳有权知道真相，但心生怕心芳想不开，执意假冒阿大写信，告诉心芳自己暂时还不能回去。夜晚，心生将信交给心芳，心芳虽然失望，但对未来还是充满憧憬。但心细的心美发现哥哥的神情不对。

心生是在控制不住，出去买了包烟，想抽根烟让自己冷静下来。心美上前询问哥哥为什么这两天母亲和他都是强颜欢笑，而老虎灶爷爷看她就跑？心生无法再隐瞒下去，只得告诉心美真相。但其实心美的心里早就猜出了七八分，但晴天霹雳还是来的太突然了。

心芳一大早和心跟聊天，嘴里不停地说着阿大，这让杜母(陈瑾 饰)再也抑制不住，一边哭一边跑到了公共食堂。胖嫂关心询问杜母，但杜母却说辣椒进了眼睛。杜母走后，胖嫂告诉周姐，其实她早就知道阿大的死讯，是老虎灶爷爷喝了酒自己说出来的。而这些话恰巧被赶到食堂的心根听到。

心根回到家，看见母亲正站在家门口没有进去，便问母亲为什么邻居都知道了阿大的死讯？因为声音太大，被心芳全部听到了。心芳开始不吃不喝地躺在床上，心生劝她生活还要继续下去，但心芳说自己没有母亲当年那么坚强，自己已经没有了活下去的希望。

心芳失踪了，大家都急忙寻找，最后在江边看到了欲跳江寻短见的心芳。心根和心美立即上前抱住了心芳。心生怒斥心芳不负责任，难道她就不珍惜这个阿大的唯一的孩子，自己亲骨肉性命了吗？回想起阿大曾经说他非常想要个孩子，当个好父亲的话，心芳才放弃了轻生的念头。

心芳生产，大家在一起焦急地等待着，但医生告诉他们，心芳是难产大出血，大人和孩子都很难保住，让他们做好心理准备。精疲力尽的心芳告诉母亲和弟弟妹妹，她一定要保住毛阿大唯一的孩子。家人们都很痛苦，但还是尊重心芳的意见。经过医生的全力救治，孩子安然无恙地生了下来。但心芳却因为大出血而去世。临终前，她给女儿取名安安，并把孩子拜托给了哥哥和家人，让他们无论如何都要让孩子健康成长，随后撒手人寰。
