飞扬偷存折时被方清平逮个正着，被父亲骂了一顿后，只好灰溜溜地向飞扬汇报，自己拿不到钱了。郑合适最后这里借一点，那里凑一点，飞扬、猴子、花儿都纷纷解囊相助。但大家本身也不是富贵之人，即使尽自己所能，最后还差十五万，才够得着五十万。看着哥哥焦头烂额的样子，飞扬只好把这事告诉美兰。美兰听见合适遇到困难，立即回家找存折。

美兰回家翻找存折，但怎么也找不到。这时方清平走过来，亮出美兰的存折。原来方清平为了不让美兰出钱帮助郑合适，他早已抢先一步，把美兰的存折拿起来了。美兰知道很难摆平父亲，只好另想他法。

美兰实在没办法，于是低声下气地找焦不满，问他借十五万。焦不满一听见美兰的求助，立刻神魂颠倒，命令助理赶紧把钱给美兰送去。美兰给焦不满打了个借条后，便把一大包用黑布包着的钱带到合适居，放在桌上后便离开了。此时郑合适正在为钱发愁，美兰的出现犹如雪中送炭。

厨师猴子在大赞美兰姐后，便开心地打开了黑布想要取出钱。不料，黑布里不仅包着钱，还有一封信。郑合适以为这是美兰给自己的情书，于是高兴地拆开来看，不料看了信的内容后，心情立马掉进了谷底。原来这信上写的是焦不满给美兰的情书，信里的情诗肉麻至极。郑合适心里堵得慌，随即把钱还给了美兰。

美兰看见郑合适来还钱，有点不摸不着头脑，但看见布包里的钱后，便知道了缘由。与此同时，郑合适独自坐在林子里生闷气，袁媛此时出现，开解郑合适。在袁媛知道了郑合适遇到金钱困难后，立即挺身而出，给他凑齐了五十万。
