冯天魁听完日本人的信后怀疑是个圈套，四人打起了麻将，赌注是脱衣服，结果她们几个都输光了。贺国光查明了红军部队根本没有东进，只是小股力量在永州活动，他明白这是蒋介石的一箭双雕之计。贺国光准备让冯天魁的去攻打徐向前，他知道刘湘也在冯天魁身边安插了卧底。贺国光宣布了作战计划，国军将动用四十万人马追剿，冯天魁念电报引起了众人的嘲笑。封萍带着永州游击队赶到四川巴中红军驻地，红军为应对准备和中央红军拧成一股绳。刘湘知道冯天魁对作战计划不满，冯天魁知道他们准备把主战场放在红云寺，刘湘的话让冯天魁心生警觉为，家中果然有内奸。回去的路上副官将贺国光和康兆民的对话告诉了冯天魁。

贺国光请刘成火吃饭时将第二份作战计划拿给他看，他是想借机杀了冯天魁。冯天魁回家后准备带三个太太上前线，还给她们准备了军服，冯天魁的试探看出她们都曾受过特殊训练，她们都是想要他的脑袋。冯天魁找夫人辞行，他要找红军作战，不打红军是他的原则，但这次没有办法，冯天魁进了别人布的局，他是想表明自己的心迹并还共产常的情谊。冯天魁决定带家中的三个姨太太上前线，她们绝非等闲之辈，他想借机除去她们，从那封信中他猜出她们之中肯定有奸细。

沈虹是当年杜月笙推荐给冯天魁的，杜月笙的一句话点醒了他，那些人进门看似很偶然，但很可能都是奸细。贺国光知道刘成火肯定挡不住共军，他认为最后来收摊的人是胡宗南的第一军。山羊将冯天魁的想法汇报给贺国光，贺国光相信她能完成任务。冯天魁让通令全军评选英勇模范，选上的人可以和自己的太太共处一夜。
